Workforce Development Resources for COVID-19

Current Orders in Effect:

Effective January 4, 2021, 8:00am - The time-limited mitigation orders are no longer in effect, however, COVID mitigation requirements remain as outlined by the Pennsylvania Secretary of Health and Governor. These mitigations include, but are not limited to: 

  • Telework must continue unless impossible
  • All in person businesses may operate at 75% occupancy, with exceptions for restaurants, personal care services, indoor recreation health and wellness, and entertainment facilities that must all operate at 50% capacity. 
  • Gathering limits are determined based on maximum occupancy. 
  • Face coverings are required indoors and outdoors. 
  • Unnecessary travel should be limited.  Travel requirements, such as quarantine, established by the Dept. of Health are outlined here
  • Additional local guidelines have been established by local officials for Allegheny, Delaware, and Philadelphia counties.

Time-Limited Mitigation (December 12-January 4, 2021) As of 12:01 am on December 12th , a statewide protective mitigation order will go into effect. Per this latest order directed by Governor Wolf and Secretary of Health Dr. Levine, the mitigation effort is being put into place to:

1) Stop the Spread of COVID-19
2) Mitigate capacity issues at hospitals and health systems, and
3) Help Pennsylvanians get through the holiday season - and closer to a widely available vaccines - as safely as possible. 
What is Impacted by this latest Order?  
  • Dining - Indoor Person Dining is Not Allowed; Out-door Dining is allowed. Restaurants and like businesses (ex. bars, breweries, wineries, etc) can continue take-out and delivery. 
  • Gatherings -  impacting temporary collections of people, indoor gatherings and events of more than 10 persons are prohibited (not including religious organizations). Outdoor gatherings of more than 50 people are prohibited. 
  • Business Operations - businesses serving the public are limited to up to 50% of the maximum capacity on business occupancy license. 
  • Gyms & Fitness  - indoor operations and gyms and fitness centers are prohibited. Outdoor operations can continue - participants are required to wear face masks.
  • Entertainmentin-person businesses serving the public within a building or indoor defined area are prohibited from operation. This includes movies, theatres, concert venues, museums, arcades, private clubs, bowling alleys, casinos and similar facilities. 
  • Extracurricular & Youth Recreational  - in person volunteer activities sponsored by a school or administration are suspended. All youth sports at K-12 school entities as well as club, travel, recreational, intermural, intramural, sports are paused. 
  • Professional & Collegiate Sports - may continue but spectators are prohibited.
